Delray Beach, Mexican.
Re-reviewed.
When this restaurant first opened up several years ago in the Delray MarketPlace, I went and the food quality wasn’t that good. We gave the restaurant 2 stars. Today we tried it again. Friendly people welcome you as you enter the restaurant, and they advised that management changed about a year ago. Even Robert, our waiter, was friendly. However the food quality was awful.
We asked Robert for his suggestions of the best items. He believed the fried Chimichanga was the best item on the menu. We’re not much into fried food, so we went for his number 2 pick … Sizzling Fajitas, specifically steak fajita for $18.00. Dish comes with the smallest portion of pico de gallo (maybe less than an ounce), about an ounce of guacamole, and an ounce each of sour cream and a cheese like product that neither tastes like cheese nor melts like cheese. Probably artificial. The Fajitas were very salty, and the taste was terrible. Didn’t taste like Mexican. My dining companion actually got sick from it. Water is not filtered and the water tasted like chlorine. House wine is expensive at $9.00 per glass.
We dined on a Sunday at about 6:00 PM. Very few people in the restaurant. Probably a sign that others have found the food objectionable. This place needs to close.
On a positive note, chips and salsa free appetizer was good. Table condiments were dirty. Bottles of sauces sticky. Lots of flies on the food, around the food and everywhere. Terrible odor in the restaurant.
Food doesn’t even taste like Mexican. I’m surprised this place is still in business.
